Isuzu FA Vase 12/09/26

Charnock Richard win 4-3 on penalties

CHARNOCK RICHARD dug in in the second half of this FA Vase tie at Trafford FC, fighting their way to a late equalizer, then winning on penalties.

Trafford, coming into the game on the back of a 7-game winning streak, were confident from the off, playing the ball around accurately and probing for chances. 20 minutes in, they took the lead when Kyle Worsley knocked the ball around the visitors left back, ran onto it and drove it home.

The second half saw much improvement from Charnock Richard, and by the 70th minute they were clearly looking good for an equaliser. It came with just two minutes to go when Nathan Nickeas rifled home from just inside the box.

At the whistle, the game went straight to penalties, and after both sides missed their first spot kicks, the crucial juncture came when Charnock’s goalkeeper Ryan Hamer saved Bradley Njine’s shot, leaving Jordan Darr to score and put the visitors through.
