Trafford FC are delighted to celebrate a double success in the North West Counties Football League’s August awards, with the club named PST Sport Premier Division Club of the Month and Connor Beard winning the paxsport Premier Division Goalkeeper of the Month award.
The honours recognise an impressive opening month of the 2026/27 season, featuring strong league performances and progress in both the Emirates FA Cup and Isuzu FA Vase.
Our campaign began with a 3–0 home victory over Longridge Town. Despite defeat at Ramsbottom United, the team responded with wins at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic and Armthorpe Welfare in the cup competitions, followed by a 3–0 league success at Abbey Hey.
A memorable afternoon at Runcorn Linnets provided another highlight. Ryan Brooke opened the scoring against his former club before Jensen Bowering and David Worrall helped Trafford secure a 3–2 FA Cup victory over higher-level opposition. Brooke then scored the only goal against FC Isle of Man to round off the month with another home win.
Connor’s individual award recognises the important contribution he made throughout that run. Having joined from Abbey Hey in the summer, he quickly established himself between the posts, with the league highlighting his organisation of the defence alongside his saves.
His performances against his former club helped secure victory at Abbey Hey, while important stops against FC Isle of Man protected our narrow lead and ensured all three points stayed at Trafford. This is Connor’s first NWCFL Goalkeeper of the Month award, and the club’s first winner of the honour.
Together, the awards are a welcome recognition of the work put in by our players and management team, and a strong start to our return to the North West Counties Football League.
Congratulations to Connor and everyone involved, and thank you to our supporters for backing the team at home and on the road.
Up the Trafford!
