Ahead of tomorrow’s home game versus Hednesford Town, we bring you the sad news that it will be Danny Lambert’s last game as he’s finding it extremely difficult to balance work, family, and playing.
When Lambo signed for us just before DC left, it was on the understanding that he’d see how it would work, but unfortunately after a few months of trying the situation is just too difficult, so he is having to say his goodbyes.
Margy says: “Lambo has been magnificent for us over this short period and his captaincy of the team has been a shining example of the brilliant lad he is. Whilst I’m gutted to be losing him, I totally understand his reasons for this extremely difficult decision and we all wish him the best.”
Danny has had two spells at Trafford – in 2015/16 he made 16 appearances for the club; His spell this season has yielded a further 13 appearances (including tomorrow’s game) most of which have been as captain. He scored a memorable goal against Runcorn Linnets at Shawe View in September.
In addition to Margy’s tribute, everyone at the club would like to wish Danny all the best. He’s been awesome this season, and will be missed massively. Thanks Lambo – you’ve been fantastic x
