TRAFFORD FC returned to the summit of the Pitching-In NPL West Division today (Saturday 14th September) with another battling, backs-to-the-wall performance away at Runcorn Linnets.
The Shawe View men had goalkeeper Sam Booth sent off in the 62nd minute for a foul just outside the box on the last man, as the Linnets' striker piled forward looking for what would have been an equaliser at the time. Winger Matty Morgan went in goal and kept a clean sheet for the rest of the game, and as if that wasn't good enough, young striker Kanye Nisbett came off the bench to coolly slot home a one-on-one with the Runcorn 'keeper to make sure of the three points.
The full match report will be published overnight, so until then bask in the knowledge that Karl Marginson's team are top of the league after 6 games!
