TRAFFORD FC has a long-standing and close relationship with Trafford Veterans CIC. We were very proud to host their leaders Claire Wright and Chris Squires, together with some of their veteran colleagues, last Saturday for our home game with Macclesfield FC.
The football club asks the League each season for a home game on remembrance weekend so we can do just this – honour those who have served our country, and pay our respects with a minute’s silence before the game.
Prio to kick off v. Macclesfield, wreaths were placed on the centre circle, and the two teams plus match officials stood with our Veterans guests and the entire 1034 crowd, for an impeccably observed 60 seconds. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them……
