This Saturday, hot on the heels of qualifying for the Manchester FA Premier Cup final, Trafford return to League action when Widnes FC are the visitors to the Home Estates Shawe View Stadium. Kick off is 3pm and admission is £8 with concessions for youngsters and oldsters alike.
Widnes currently sit 17th in the Bet Victor NPL North West Division. The Vikings’ form since the turn of the year has been somewhat up & down, reading WWLLDWL in seven league games. Results have been one-extreme-to-another with a 4-0 win over Kendal starting that spell, and a 2-5 defeat to Marine most recently. You could expect goals in a Widnes game, but they also drew 0-0 with Mossley recently (which incidentally was the score when Trafford travelled to the Halton Stadium in December).
Widnes have recently signed Midfielder Kingsley Williams from Radcliffe. Kingsley is well known to Trafford fans having played for us before leaving for Radcliffe during the 2017-18 season. Widnes’ striker Anointed Chukwu also turned out for Trafford as a trialist last season.
The atmosphere at SV has been brilliant the last few games, thanks in no small part it seems to half of Wellacre College joining us! So come on down and feel the love for The-Boys-Who-Play-In-White! If you don’t already know, Shawe View is down leafy Pennybridge Lane behind The Bird In Hand pub. Our clubhouse has a licensed bar and we have hot and cold food, drinks and snacks, plenty of covered seating and standing…... Everybody welcome! Keep up to date with fixtures and news from the club on traffordfc.com and our Twitter account @fctrafford. Thank you!
