Trafford visit Sheffield FC on Tuesday 3rd March for the Third Round of the Integro NPL Cup, kick off 7.45pm
Sheffield FC are officially recognised as the oldest football club in the world having been founded in 1857, some 133 years before Trafford! They play in the NPL South East Division and are currently 13th in the table with a record of P26 W9 D7 L10 F46 A46. Their most recent result was a 1-2 reverse away at Chasetown on 22nd February. They've won only two of their last ten games, but those two victories came immediately prior to the Chasetown defeat, with victories over Worksop and Glossop North End, so they will be reasonably confident with their current form.
Sheffield's "Home of Football" stadium is in Dronfield, which is actually about 6 miles south of Sheffield, half way to Chesterfield just off the A61 which connects the two cities. The ground is located immediately behind the Coach & Horses pub, which is a decent pre-match watering hole.
If you're travelling, take care and keep an eye/ear on the weather reports. Any news on pitch condition which might affect the game going ahead will be on here, on our Twitter, and on our Facebook page. Thank you!
