When this campaign is over it will be 30 years since our wonderful football club was established. Over those three decades it has grown slowly but surely, and improved each year. The Supporters Club aims to do everything it can to keep that growth, to support the Manager and the players, to raise funds, to promote the club in the community, and organise events that add to the amazing feeling you get from being part of Trafford FC.
Last season we were very busy in all these respects, and more. Starting with the World Cup games shown on Big Screens at the stadium last summer, the Supporters Club has played a big part in organising and helping outwith numerous enjoyable and successful events. Our members helped on the Race Night and Poker/Darts Night; The Supporters Christmas Curry & Games night was a hilarious event; The Fraudsters gig was a brilliant night out; In May we held a Supporters game on the award-winning pitch at Shawe View, and followed this up with a Supporters Bowling Match and Barbeque. All these events were great fun and raised money that helps develop the club.
Supporters Club members have stewarded end-of-season amateur/kids cup finals, and the club’s Junior Tournament. We’ve been busy on the close-season Working Parties – much of this work goes unnoticed to the casual visitor to Shawe View. We arranged “Funbus” travel to away trips throughout the season, and we try to improve the general matchday experience with vocal (but good natured) support for the team, flags, singing and increased numbers of followers at all games.
Our aim is to IMPROVE on ALL these efforts over the next 12 months. We meet every 4-6 weeks and discuss what we can do to achieve this. We have this summer kick-started our long-term aim of improving the stadium by buying and installing a new PA system. Our next project is to build a terrace at the Pennybridge Lane end (currently a grass bank) and eventually put a roof over it to match the stands on the other three sides.
We have a committee comprising of five elected officers who deal with issues such as finance, membership, and records. Many other members are involved in the meetings / organisation of the Supporters Club, but of course if you just want to be a member and enjoy watching the football, that’s perfectly acceptable. Membership is £10 for the season with concessions of £5 for U-18’s and O-65’s. For your fee you receive a special edition supporters’ club badge and you are entered into a draw we have which gives free admission for one lucky member at each home league game. Get your badge & win the draw and your membership fee is more than covered already!
If you’re interested, give us a shout. Andy Glinka, Kevin Burke, Mike Capp, Colin Booth & Pete McGrath are the guys to see, or come to our next meeting on 9th September, 7.30pm at Urmston Con Club. We look forward to welcoming you!
Trafford Rise to the Occasion!
Trafford achieved an excellent home victory today (Saturday 8th February) beating City of Liverpool FC 4-1 in front of over 500 spectators at the AwayDayCare Shawe View stadium this afternoon.
Goals from Rio Clegg, Harry Norris, and two from Matty Lusakueno secured the points in a game where Lusakueno was unlucky not to claim a hat-trick, and striker Kevin Spinelli was unlucky not to be on the scoresheet too.
Dave Law’s match report will be up on this website in the next few hours, so click-in as always to read the full story.

Rest in Peace John Crook
You may have seen on our Twitter account that we recently lost John Crook, sadly passed away. John was a supporter of Trafford FC for many years, and became involved behind the scenes at the club – especially helping out during the summer “Working Parties” where maintenance and repair is carried out at Shawe View over the close-season.
All who came across John found him to be a lovely man, a great and entertaining talker, and he made a fine cup of tea!
The condolences of everyone at Trafford FC go to John’s family who sent us this message:
“Please join us to celebrate John’s life on Friday 10th June 2022 at 14:30 at Altrincham Crematorium, Whitehouse Lane, Dunham Massey, WA14 5RH. Then afterwards at ‘The Venue’ (Masonic Hall) Westbourne Road, Urmston, M41 0XQ.

Trafford slip out of the FA Cup
TRAFFORD’S FA Cup journey ended at the 2nd hurdle as they fell 2-1 at Widnes FC this afternoon. In a game short on entertainment, on the plastic pitch at Halton Stadium, an own goal from Trafford’s Eko Solomon put the hosts 2-0 ahead in the 2nd half and left Trafford with a mountain to climb. Ally Brown pulled one back for the Yellows, but Trafford’s reawakening couldn’t stretch to an equaliser, and the team suffered a frustrating defeat.

BREAKING NEWS!
Our Chairman John Eadie met with Danny Caldecott yesterday evening. Danny advised John that he had been offered the manager’s job at Clitheroe FC and he has accepted that offer.
Danny is ambitious and wants to progress his career in management. That ambition is one of the reasons we gave him the job here at Shawe View in 2020. His passion, determination, and leadership qualities are clear to see and we fully understand his reasons for wanting to grasp this opportunity at this moment in time.
We wish Danny all the best and we thank him for his dedicated service to Trafford Football Club as manager for the past three-&-half years (and as a player before that). He leaves with our blessing and will always be a very welcome visitor to Shawe View in the future.
The process of appointing a new manager is under way and we will make a further announcement on this in due course.
