IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT RE. GROUND SAFETY

Following a communication from the League stating that grass embankments at football grounds are NOT to be used as spectator viewing areas and should be fenced off & marshalled, the grass bankings at Shawe View have now been fenced off and we are issuing this notice to comply.

Spectators are hereby advised that the viewing of matches from the grass bankings is NOT PERMITTED, as this would be a breach of our FA Ground Grading criteria. Failure to abide by this instruction may lead to ejection from the ground.

Please do not watch the game from the grassed areas, do not try to cross the fences that have been put up, and please help our volunteer stewards to ensure that we keep our ground certification. There are four home games left – Let’s keep the atmosphere at Shawe View positive!

Despite the obvious disappointment that this decision brings, the good news is that this summer, the Trafford FC Supporters Club plans to build a stand at the open end of the ground (Pennybridge Lane End) are coming to fruition. Following a grant from Manchester FA plus money raised by the SC, the first phase (concrete terracing) will go ahead this summer.

Thank you.

QR CODE FOR MATCH TICKETS……

As an experiment in modern technology (!) we can provide a QR code, which if you scan this on your smartphone it should take you straight to Shocal’s Trafford FC page where you can order your tickets for the forthcoming home pre-season game versus Curzon Ashton on Saturday 10th July at 3pm…. fingers crossed!

The Butcher Departs…..

STRIKER Tom Bentham has departed Shawe View.

Following a chat with Manager Karl Marginson, the man known throughout non-league football as “The Butcher” (his day job!) ends his second spell at Trafford.

Tom originally made his debut for the club in 2011 as a teenager, and across two seasons in his first spell, he scored 8 goals in 31 appearances. Returning to the club in the summer of 2022, the big striker made a further 40 appearances scoring 17 goals, making his total Trafford career 71 appearances, 25 goals.

Tom also stepped in as interim Player-Manager recently, following the departure of Danny Caldecott, leading the side to a 2-2 draw at City of Liverpool.

It goes without saying that we wish Tom all the very best as he departs Shawe View, and we thank him for his service and commitment as a Trafford player.

Trafford FC Petition against Housing on Car Park

Sign The Petition

Trafford Council in partnership with Mosscare St Vincent’s Homeowner Association are proposing to build 12 ‘Next Steps’ housing units on the car park at Trafford FC.

The Club and local residents are strongly opposed to this idea as it will have an enormous impact on the numbers able to park at the ground for club matches, finals and tournaments.

Many people will inevitably park on the local streets.

If you disagree with the proposal could you please sign the petition below.

Please also submit any obejctions via the Trafford Council website using this reference – 110688/FUL/23 https://www.trafford.gov.uk/planning/planning-applications/comment-on-a-planning-application.aspx

Trafford slipped to a 1-2 home defeat today (Saturday 18th January) when visitors Witton Albion cancelled out Trafford skipper Harry Norris’s opener, then scored a winner on the hour. Despite applying pressure for much of the last 20 minutes, Trafford could not find a way through and the points were taken away from Shawe View.
